Where is All The Disk Space Going?
2 December 2008 @ 21:38 GMT
by Paul

I'm running out of space on /usr despite having allocated 5.8G. To find out where the space is gone I use 'du -s /usr/*'. However, that doesn't give me directories in size order. This does however:

du -s /usr/* | sort -n | less

Now, it's easy to see where the space is going.
